Claim that Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, has decided to call time on his participation at the ongoing AFCON in Morocco has drawn reaction from the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF.

Osimhen had come under attack for his outburst at Ademola Lookman during Nigeria against Mozambique Round 16 match which the former won by 4 goals to zero.

Lookman provided two assists, one of which was the goal scored by Osimhen.

However in the 63rd minute the Atalanta forward tried to have himself on the score sheet when he could have passed to Osimhen who was in a better position to score, an act the Galatasaray striker reacted to angrily and yelled at Lookman.

The moment which was captured on camera drew Osimhen flak on social media, which the striker reportedly didn’t find good and allegedly threatened to walk out of the Super Eagles camp.

Report has now emerged that nothing of such was contemplated by the player, according to FIFA and CAF-accredited journalist, Adepoju Samuel, citing an NFF official.

Samuel wrote on his X handle on Tuesday, “A top team official just confirmed the latest situation over yesterday’s incident.

“The official said everything has been sorted since last night, and we are all good. There was no discussion about Osimhen leaving the tournament. The issue has been resolved as a family.”
