Pastor Aka-Bashorun Olawale Akanni of Redeemed Christian Church of God, has again been brought before the court on allegation of sexual assault.
The plaintiff now 27 years old accused Pastor Aka-Bashorun of molesting her while she was 14-year-old.
The lady claimed that Pastor Aka-Bashorun who is equally a lawyer was fond of fondling her breasts and abusing her physically at Iwaya in Lagos after she moved in with the defendant’s family to improve her academic performance and also participate in the church activities while she was 8 years old.
Justice Hakeem Oshodi of the Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja on Wednesday was also told by the alleged victim that she came to know the defendant through her father, who is a member of the same church.
After oral arguments by the prosecution counsel and that of the defendant centered on the bail earlier granted by a Magistrate’s Court, Justice Oshodi upheld the decision and adjourned the case to December 9, 2025, for continuation of the trial.
