Police reveal another way Robbers rob car owners of Vehicles

The Police in Ondo State have exposed a trick adopted by a car thief, Ojodi Esiah, to rob one Tunde Olubode of his Toyota Corolla in Akure, the Ondo State capital.

According to police report, Esiah chartered Olubode’s vehicle, contracting the owner to drive him around Akure under the guise of some business engagements.

It said that along the line, the car thief made the motorist took an alcoholic drink, which unknown to the driver was laced with sedative.

The report added that the sedative lulled Olubode to deep sleep and that moment Esiah took charge of the vehicle and fled with it to Abuja where the police later tracked him and the car to.

“Acting on the intelligence, the suspect was arrested, and the vehicle was successfully recovered.

“Subsequently, both the suspect and the recovered vehicle were brought back to Akure, where he remains in custody as further investigations continue,” the Police Public Relations Officer, Ayanlade Olayinka narrated.
