A teacher at Soun High School in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, Mr. Fatai Adegoke, has been killed by his own students in an attempt to stop them from gambling during school hours.
Reports in general circulation said Mr Adegoke was beaten to death by a group of students with whom he had a confrontation with in a classroom.
The triggering event according to the sources’ account was that he met them gambling in a class and tried to stop them but the students were adamant.
The ensuing confrontation it was said, turned violent during which the students attacked him with dangerous weapons and caused him bodily harm including broken limbs.
While his attackers fled the scene and since have gone underground with police efforts to arrest them yet to produce desired result, Mr Adegoke was on the fateful day rushed to nearby hospital, where he later died from the injuries sustained in the assault.
