Tinubu forced NAHCON chairman to resign — Report

The resignation of the Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, is said to follow a presidential order.

Recall that Prof Usman has been in the news for the wrong reasons bordering on corruption and called for his sack.

“These actions constitute grave breaches of financial governance and are compounded by the fact that the chairman is currently under investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC),” eleven members of the NAHCON board wrote in a petition against him to President Bola Tinubu.

The President going by Daily Trust citing an unnamed staff member of the commission forced Prof. Usman to turn in his resignation letter.

“Yes, he was forced to resign by the presidency following the petition against him.

“The commission has faced several controversies since his appointment. The presidency will announce a replacement soon,” the publication quoted the unnamed source as saying.
