The Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has come under fire for attending a summit in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), with his two sons.
The triggering event of the online opprobrium fired at the minister was his media aide, Lere Olayinka’s posting of Wike’s photos with his sons and some persons believed to be government officials at the 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors’ Forum in Dubai.
The images, posted on X were accompanied by a caption: “When e reach your turn, carry your enemies travel.”
The images drew disapproval of many commentators who accused the minister of nepotism saying his sons had no business to be at the event.
They also accused him of wasting tax payers’ money.
