A foreign national lady, Lamborne Grace Muila, before Yaba Chief Magisterate Court, Lagos, on alleged offences of stealing some properties and the sum of €1, 0224 Euro.
The defendant arraignment before Chief Magistrate Chief Magistrate Ejiro Kubeije, today, sequel to her arrest by the operatives of the International Police (Interpol) led by Mr. Bode Ojajuni a Commissioner of Police (CP).
In arraigning the defendant, Barrister Morufu Ajani Animashaun, a Legal Officer in the Legal/Prosecution department of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (ForceCID) Annex Alagbon-Ikoyi Lagos, told the court that she committed the alleged offences sometimes in June, 2025, at Daramola Street, Oniru, Victoria Island, Lagos.
In committing th alleged offences, the prosecutor told the court that the defendant falsely lured her victims who are in diaspora of organising a cosmetic training/course for you ladies from diaspora.
She was alleged to have collected from the victims training fee, ticket and accommodation paid by the prospective trainees to through her organisation Degrace World.
Among the items allegedly stolen are: board, 14 make-up tables, 12 make-up chairs, 10 hairstyling wig, heads, 14 ring-light stands, and one roll-up black banner and the sum of €1,024.69 Euro.
The properties and the money were said to belong to one FANTA SYLLA, who was among the foreigners that attended the cosmetic training/seminar organized by the defendant.
Animashaun informed the court that the illegal acts of the defendant contravened sections 280(1)(a)(b) of the Criminal Law, Chapter C17, Volume 3, Laws of Lagos State, 2015, and punishable under Section 287 of the same Law.
The defendant denied the allegations and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Based on her denial of the charges, the prosecutor asked the court for the trial date, as well as a remand order pending the conclusion of the charge against her.
But the defendant through her lawyer, pleaded with the court to grant her bail on the liberal terms on the ground that the charges are bailable offences. Adding that she is presumably innocent until contrary is proven.
Chief Magisterate Kubeije, after listening to the defendant’s lawyer submission, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N2 million with two responsible sureties in like sum.
The chief magisterate also ordered that the sureties must be residing within the Court’s jurisdiction, who have evidence of three years tax payment. Adding that the bail terms are to be verified by the prosecutor.
The chief magisterate thereafter remanded the defendant in the custody of the Nigerian Correctional Services NCoS pending the fulfillment of the bail terms. While adjourned the matter to February 23, 2026, for mention.
Charges against the defendant read: “that you, Lamborne Grace Muila, on or about June 2025, at Daramola Street,
Oniru, Victoria Island, Lagos, within the Lagos Magisterial District, dishonestly . stole the following items, to wit: wigs, frontal lace, mini billboard/model board,
fourteen (14) make-up tables, twelve (12) make-up chairs, ten (10) hairstyling wig, heads, fourteen (14) ring-light stands, and one (1) roll-up black banner, all properties of one FANTA SYLLA, and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280(1)(a) and (b) of the Criminal Law, Chapter C17, Volume 3, Laws of Lagos State, 2015, and punishable under Section 287 of the same Law.
“That you, Lamborne Grace Muila, on or about May 2025, at Daramola Street,
Oniru, Victoria Island, Lagos, within the aforementioned Magisterial District,
dishonestly converted to your personal use the sum of One Thousand and Twenty Four Euros Sixty-Nine Cents (€1,024.69), being money property of one FANTA SYLLA, which was refunded by a ticket vendor, and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280(1)(a) and (b) of the Criminal Law, Chapter C17, Volume 3, Laws of Lagos State, 2015, and punishable under Section 287 of the same Law.”
