Lagos Names Streets After Bukayo Saka, Olamide, KSA, Others

Bariga Local Council Development Area of Lagos State has renamed some major roads and streets in the council area after prominent individuals including Arsenal star and English International of Nigerian descent, Bukayo Saka.

This is according to thegazellenews.com, which says the council also renamed the popular Charly Boy bus stop as Badoo bus stop.

It said that the outgoing Chairman of the council, Kolade David Alabi made the announcement on Friday, 25 July, 2025, his last day in office.

The report adds that the occasion coincided with the commissioning of landmark projects by his administration performed by the Governor of the state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

“As an administration we took our time to reflect on a number of people who have put the name of our local council on the global map through their respective God-given talents and craft, as well as eminent personalities in our nation, beloved state and council who have contributed immensely to the development of the nation and the state.

“Today, we will be officially renaming streets in honour of the legacies,” it quoted Alabi as saying.

The list of the renamed streets are: the popular Ilajẹ road will now be known as King Sunny Ade road; Bariga road has been renamed Bola Ahmed Tinubu Way; Community road in Akoka is now Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu Road; Ajidagan Street is now to be called Olamide Adedeji (Baddo) Street; Charly Boy Bus Stop has been renamed Baddo Bus Stop; Ifeanyi Street is now to be called Abolore Akande (9ice) Street; Ayodele Street, Ladi-Lak has been renamed Tony Tetuila Street; and Ilojo Crescent in Obanikoro Obanikoro now to be known as Bukayo Saka Street.
