Founder of Elyon Paradise Ministry in Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State, Apostle Divine Omodia (pictured) has been shot, while six worshippers in his church are abducted.
The incident happened on Friday during a vigil held at the church.
As per reports, all was well at the church near Delta State Polytechnic, until around 10 p.m when gunmen broke the service with gunshots, which hit Apostle Omodia in the lap and cut off two his fingers.
Six Worshippers it was said, were abducted by the gunmen.
Those abducted include: Helen Onwuamaeze, Ariyo Emmanuel, Chike Okolo, and Blessing Waye, and an unnamed guards.
The incident underscores the prevalence of kidnap in the Delta community.
In her account of the incident Apostle Omodia’s wife, Pastor Faith Omodia recounted:“I was lying down with my baby in the church hall when I heard gunshots. Suddenly, bullets started flying inside the auditorium.”
