The President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero, has expressed gratitude to workers for standing by him in the face of his investigation by the police for alleged terrorism financing and treasonable felony.
Ajaero on Thursday eventually honoured the police invitation for the said crime, with NLC members holding processions across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory and prayer sessions in all the Police Commands.
The workers’ President on getting to the Labour House, Abuja from the headquarters of Intelligence Response Team located at Guzape junction in the nation’s capital, expressed his admiration for the support given to him by the workers.
The labour leader also pledged that the union would continue to fight for a better welfare for workers.
According to him, “For whatever is the case, we are out to continue the struggle, we have gotten minimum wage, but it has not been implemented so we have to press for its implementation as soon as possible. Every other thing that will make the welfare of the Nigerian workers to be worthwhile, we will be involved in it.
“We will not listen to any distraction. On behalf of the NLC NAC and NEC, and CWC and the level of solidarity they showed here, I want to thank everyone of you. I didn’t know say una love me like this.”
