Chrisland International School said plans are afoot to immortalise its deceased student, Whitney Adeniran.
Chrisland has been in the news for wrong reason again, arising from Whitney’s death during the school’s inter-house sports competition at the Agege Stadium, in Agege Local Government Area of the state.
The circumstances divided the bereaved parents and the school.
The latter’s position that the 12-year-old slumped from health issue contradicted that of the bereaved family, who attributed her death to electrocution.
Autopsy, has however, proved the parents right.
But the report that followed that the school wanted her body exhumed for a repeat of the autopsy has prompted its denial via a statement.
In it, the school revealed its plan to do something in her memory.
“We hereby vehemently refute the claim making the rounds that Chrisland School intends to exhume Whitney’s body.
“We have no such plan and assure the public that we are also parents in mourning and will not do or subscribe to anything that paints such insensitive optics that prevents our dear daughter from resting,” the statement read.
It added that plan is in place to immortalise her, “so she can remain indelible in our consciousness.”
