A former deputy national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olabode George, has urged former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to give up any thought of contesting for the presidency in 2027 on age grounds.

There has been speculations that Atiku would give Presidency another shot in the next general election.

Weighing in on the matter, George, while speaking in an interview on Arise Television on Thursday, said that the ex VP by then would be 81 years, and too old to govern the country.

His word: “My brother Atiku Abubakar was 77 years old last year, and by 2027 he will be 81 years old. Atiku should give room to younger Nigerians, who still have the energy and the brain to develop the country.

“Atiku should be in a situation where he plays like the big uncle in the room or the elder in the room.”
