The Lagos State Government has made it known that at least 340 husbands have been beaten by their wives in the last year.
The record came to light through the Executive Secretary, of Lagos Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA), Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi.
The latter disclosed this in the agency’s quarterly report where she said the incidence of reporting of domestic violence from males also increased during the last year.
Vivour-Adeniyi put the figure of male who reported that they were subjected to beating by their wives to 340 between September 2022 and July 2023.
She expressed concern about the trend, saying the agency “is currently handling the cases to find an amicable resolution.”
