Some family members of deceased Toju Davies Daibo, who was said to have died by suicide, are unwavering in their belief that the fresh graduate did not kill himself.
Last Saturday the 21-year-old reportedly boarded a Uber and while in transit asked the cab driver, one Idowu Badmus, to pull over on Third Mainland under the pretext of urinating but jumped into the Lagoon.
Toju’s bereaved mother, Mrs. Kemi Daibo, and his sister, Omasan, had in an interview with Channels Television countered the report.
In their version of events leading up to Tolu’s demise they said he came to blows with someone where he was living, a position that may have given credence to, by Badmus who claimed there were marks on his body.
OrijoReporter exclusive gathered that Toju’s father works with Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, in Abuja, and is a polygamist married to two women with the deceased’s mother, Kemi, the young wife.
A relation of hers, who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity, said the report that Tolu committed suicide was ‘fake’ and a ploy to conceal what led to his death, adding that the family would soon address a press conference where the truth will be laid bare.
“The story that he killed himself is fake, and very soon the world will know what led to his death when we brief the media,” the relative said.
