Forty seven out of 60 players in the Golden Eaglets camp preparing for 2021 U17 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers have failed the MRI test.
The West African qualifiers slated for January 5, 2021 in Benin Republic would see Nigeria battling Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire in the group stage.
The MRI result is said to be causing panic in the Golden Eaglet camp and affecting the Fatai Amoo coached-team’s preparation.
It was said that only thirteen players passed the test with only two good enough to make the first eleven.
The situation has reportedly caused the technical crew to start pressing the panic button and casting their net wider for new players.
Recall that CAF recently ruled that if one player from any team fails the MRI test carried out by the body the entire team would be disqualified from the tournament.
After the regional qualifiers, the search for the continent’s representatives will be held in Morocco.
