Five armed members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, allegedly preparing to launch attack on a police division in Eleme Local Government Area, Rivers State, have been killed.

Their killers, the security operatives, also arrested six of the secessionist group members after a gun battle ensued between the two forces.

Acting on a tip-off, the security operatives ambushed the gunmen at a forest between Oyigbo and Eleme council areas where they mapped strategies to launch the attack.

In the gunfight that followed, sources said five IPOB members were killed while six others were arrested.

Rivers Police Public Relations Officer, Nnamdi Omoni said he was yet to get the report of the incident.
