Over 50 percent of primary school teachers in Kaduna State failed primary four exams set for them as condition for re-absorption into the civil service.
The state governor Nasir El-Rufai disclosed this when chiefs and traditional rulers from Southern Kaduna paid him a courtesy visit.
El-Rufai expressed surprise at the performance of majority of the teachers.
He hinted that students from the state on scholarship abroad were being withdrawn on the grounds of poor academic ratings, blaming their poor academic performance on their foundation
The governor early last year, awarded scholarships to 30 female students, to study medicine at a university in Uganda.
