The Lagos State Police Command has revealed that it’s investigating officers accused of robbing popular actor and skit maker, Ganiyu Morufu, aka Ijoba Lande, and his brother.
The actor had levelled assault and robbery of an
iPhone 16 Pro Max and $1,200 against cops from Area J Command at Elemoro in Ibeju-Lekki.
Lande in a viral video in which he is seen seating in a car,
bleeding from the left side of his face and showing multiple bruise said he was attacked by officers attached to the command.
The clip reveals that the actor was robbed during the attack, losing his iPhone 16 Pro Max and $1,200 belonging to his brother.
“I came back from the UK 6 days ago and was attacked and beaten by police in Nigeria. They collected my iPhone 16 Pro Max and my brother’s $1,200. I nearly lost my life,” Lande narrated.
Commenting on the matter, the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, disclosed that an investigation had been launched into the February 6 incident.
“The officers involved have been identified and brought forward to the command for investigation. At the moment, both the officers, the actor, and his friend are giving their statements.
“Further developments will be communicated accordingly,” said on X.
