The management of Babcock University, Ilisan Remo, has faulted claim that a former university pastor and Associate Vice President for Spiritual Life, Afolarin Ojewole, once faced accusation of infidelity with a female student of the institution.

A report online claimed Ojewole is favoured by Babcock authorities to succeed the outgoing VC of the institution, Ademola Tayo, despite allegedly sordid past brodering on sexual misconduct.

It said owing to the act Ojewole was on leave of absence in 2018, a claim the university management also denied in a statement signed by its Director of Marketing and Communication, Joshua Suleiman, in which it countered that he left the university in 2018 with his wife to offer parental support to his children in the United States of America, and not on account of having been involved in any sexual scandal.

Suleiman in the rebuttal denied the report in its entirety saying, “Those behind this defamatory act are hereby sternly warned to desist from such destructive behaviour forthwith.

“Babcock University reserves the right to seek redress under the law for any reputational damage caused by malicious and unfounded statements made against the University and or any of its personnel.

“Should this reckless conduct persist, the University will have no hesitation in pursuing appropriate legal redress to protect its name, the Church, and the individuals so maliciously targeted.”
