Governor Godwin Obaseki has ordered the redeployment of the Director of Protocol (DoP), Government House, Benin, Aisagbon Osayande, to the Ministry of Culture and Diaspora Affairs.

Osayande’s redeployment was coming on the heels of the embarrassing gaffe on July 25  when Obaseki and other chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, visited Oba of Benin, Ewuare, to kick start the ongoing governorship campaign.

The team on demand could not present the traditional kolanut and gin to enable the monarch to give his royal blessing to his guests.

The responsibility to bring the pair along IS that of DoP Government House and Osanyande paid for the gaffe.

In his place, Mosis Obakpolor has been named.
