The report that the Senate President, GodsWill Akpabio, collapsed on Thursday after his 61st birthday Colloquium in Abuja has drawn response by proxy from him.
Akpabio was said to have slumped while sitting on a chair at the Transcorp Hilton hotel that played host to the second phase of his birthday celebration.
The flag-off was held on Saturday, 9th December at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, Akwa-Ibom where the former governor jogged on the track, waving to the cheering crowd.
Succeeding this was a colloquium, at which he spoke coherently.
All was said to have taken a toll on his health, as report in circulation said he slumped at Transcorp Hilton and was rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
It has however excited rebuttal from his spokesperson, Yemi Adaramodu.
The latter told Punchng, “Nothing of such happened. Everybody saw him today, he was hale and hearty. I sat behind them today and was even part of the team that saw the President off.
“The Senate President didn’t collapse. How can people make that kind of claim without video clips? Is it possible to witness such a thing and not make a video?”
