Senate President Godswill Akpabio has broken his silence concerning allegation that he sexually harassed Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
Natasha accused the Senate President of sexual assault after seat allocation sparked a public spat between them in the hallow chamber.
The matter has been generating wide debate in public discourse and is equally a subject of litigation.
Akpabio who maintained radio silence all along, denied the charge during Wednesday’s plenary at which the Kogi Senator submitted the sexual harassment petition to the Senate.
“At no time did I ever harass any woman. I was raised very well by my late single mother and I have always upheld respect for women. I was even awarded the most gender-friendly governor in Nigeria,” the embattled Senate President claimed.
He charged the public to shun making hasty conclusions but await the decision of the court.
