The marriage between the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, and Zaynab Ngohemba-George, the former wife of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi is about a year old.
The report of the former Benue governor’s wedding with Zaynab went viral recently evidenced by the pictures of the event.
Sparking public interest, it was thrust into the limelight on Friday, December 26, 2025, by a celebratory Facebook post by Abraham Double-D Dajoh, a member of the Akume Dajoh family from Mbakor, Benue State.
“We, the entire Dajoh family, happily join our daddy, uncle and brother, His Excellency, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume Jugu Dajoh, in welcoming his new and uncommon wife, Queen Zaynab Ngohemba-George Akume Dajoh, into the Dajoh family,” the post read in part accompanied by the wedding pictures.
Public suggestion that the wedding was held recently was punctured by Akume’s spokesman, Yomi Odunuga who in an interview said it took place more than a year ago.
Zaynab is one of Ooni’s exes. Her marriage to the monarch lasted only 17 months precisely in August 2017.
Later, unconfirmed reports had it that she relocated to Doha and was in a romantic relationship with a wealthy Arab prince whom she reportedly bore a child with, a daughter, in 2022.
