Sacked Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Housing, Raphael Bassey, is dead.
Bassey was recently
sacked by Governor Umo Eno.
According to report, his death occurred on Saturday morning at about 9am after a long battle with an undisclosed that plagued him even while in Eno’s cabinet.
Report also has it that prior to the ex-commissioner’s demise, he vomited blood, with claim that his remains has been deposited in the morgue of St. Luke’s Hospital, Anua in Uyo in general circulation.
A career politician, late Bassey was a Supervisor under the zero party in the former Ekpe Atai Local Government Area before he was appointed as Commissioner.
He was also a board member in the State Universal Basic Education Board.
He is survived by a wife and two children: male and female.
