The Ovation Magazine publisher gave this advice in an interview with Punchng.com where he said Nigerian politicians irrespective of their different political affiliations and characteristic belligerence are in good terms privately.

Momodu said he drew this conclusion early in life saying: “I was just fortunate that I’ve always had contacts since I was young. In my early twenties, I was already a private secretary to a deputy governor in the old Ondo State, Chief Akin Omoboriowo.

“Through him, I started building my contacts. From there I worked with a former Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade. You can imagine the level of contact I had. It was there I learnt that all politicians are friends. Don’t go and put your nose into something that is unnecessary. At that time, the Yeye Oba who was like the mother of the king was Chief Mrs. HID Awolowo. Yet, Oba Sijuwade was one of the closest people to former President Shehu Shagari (an opponent).”
