Claim by Afrobeat singer, Femi Kuti that ex-president Goodluck Jonathan was once object of arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has drawn the denial of the former Nigeria’s leader.

Kuti had said after Jonathan ceased to be Bayelsa deputy governor he spent time visiting EFCC on corruption investigation grounds.
Reacting to the claim by a statement his media aide, Wealth Dickson Ominabo released, the ex-president accused the singer of rehashing falsehood, originating from unscrupulous politicians and posted online to blacken his reputation.
He added that the anti-graft agency instead cleared him off any financial impropriety at that time.
