Mallam Murtala Mode, a teacher of an Almajiri school in Arkillan Magaji area of Sokoto State has been arrested over allegation that he was having carnal knowledge of female minors under his wing.

A lawyer, Barrister Hamza Liman of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) snitched on Mode on May 22, to the police, according to the State Police Commissioner, Ibrahim Kaoje while parading the suspect before the newsmen.

Kaoje alleged that the Islamic teacher’s victims at the last count are six adding that all pupils in his care would be returned to their parents or guardians.

The CP added that most of Mode’s pupils are from states neighbouring Zamfara.
