A three-day Amala fiesta gets underway in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Thursday.
The fiesta, which is organised by the Oyo State Government, and taking place at Trans Amusement Park, Ibadan, was flagged off by Gov. Abiola Ajimobi.
Represented by his wife, Florence, the governor said the objective of the fiesta was to promote indigenous cultural values for socio-economic benefits.
“We have 17 food vendors from the 33 local governments. The fiesta will be used to promote the nutritious value of Amala, attract tourism, create jobs and also improve internally generated revenue,” Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism Toye Arulogun said on the fiesta.
