Another female councillor, Honourable Zainab Adeshewa Shotayo has died.
Shotayo was elected to represent Ward C3 in Odiolowo-Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area.
Her death made it the second death recorded in the state among the newly elected councillors.
The first, equally a female is that of Hon. Oluwakemi Rufai, the councillor for Ward C1 in Ibeji Lekki Local Government who died few days ago.
Hon. Shotayo’s death occurred on Monday, 18 August, 2025 after a brief illness, as per report in circulation.
Like her deceased colleague she was the only elected female councillor in the council.
Both were also elected on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress and were among councillors inaugurated about three weeks ago.
