Armed robbers on Saturday morning stormed Awolowo Hall of Residence of University of Ibadan, dispossessing students of valuables worth thousands of naira during the raid.
Reports said the items stolen were mobile telephone handsets, pieces of jewellery, clothing and others.
“Aside from the lost items, the affected students were tortured during the raids that lasted for few hours,” a student said anonymously.
It was also gathered that the alarm raised by affected students spurred the security guards to action leading to the arrest of some of the suspects.
“Those arrested have been handed over to the police at Sango Police Station,” sources narrated.
