A fan of Arsenal FC in Anara, Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State identified as Dominic Ejimba, has slumped and died following Stoke City’s Jesse Rodriguez’s goal that separated both sides on Saturday in one of the week two games of English Premiership.

Ejimba, who watched the match on television at Anara over 3117.31 miles from Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire, where the match was played slumped and died in the 48th minutes of the game.

Reports say the deceased watched the match at a viewing centre on the Owerri-Okigwe expressway. A die-hard fan of Arsenal, he was said to have been jolted by the goal to the point that it affected his body system and slumped.

Some of the people watching the match with him were said to have rushed him to the hospital where efforts to revive him failed and was confirmed dead.

“He slumped immediately Stoke City scored a goal. We never knew that death was lurking. He had supported Arsenal for a very long time now. He couldn’t had taken that goal very seriously,” an eyewitness said about the incident.
