Olusegun Banjo, Lagos State Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget under ex-governor Akinwunmi Ambode has told of how he was rendered useless financially to the point that he was not empowered to approve a dime by his principal.

Banjo made this revelation on Tuesday when he appeared before an ad hoc committee set up by the Lagos State House of Assembly to probe the immediate-past governor over the controversial purchase of 820 mass transit buses for N45bn.

Ambode, his Commissioners for Finance, and Special Duties, Mr Akinyemi Ashade and Oladejo Seye respectively, for the second times declined the House’s invitation.

Banjo in his account, said Ambode did not follow due process in the purchase of the buses and lamented alleged financial difficulties he was subjected to by the ex-governor.
