Asiya-Balaraba Ganduje, one of the daughters of Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has given up on her marriage and wants divorce.
On that score, she approached a Sharia Court in Kano to seek the dissolution of her 16-year-old marriage to her husband, Inuwa Uba, as per Daily Trust.
The matter is reportedly before Khadi Abdullahi Halliru and came up under the cover of the judge’s chamber because the couple wanted to keep it under wraps.
According to the publication, citing sources acquainted with the issue, Asiya is no longer interested in the marriage again. Her position is at variance with Balarabe’s who is believed to be seeking resolution.
The report also added that some properties are at the centre of the couples’ dispute saying, “Sources close to the husband said after the divorce proceedings were filed, security operatives raided the couple’s home and carted away title documents of properties the husband has been laying claim to and has been a bone of contention between him and his wife.”
