Oba Akanbi is mired in the assault scandal with pressure mounted on government by a cross section of people of Osun extraction including fifteen monarchs to either depose or suspend him.
On Tuesday while speaking to newsmen, the controversial monarch gave his own account of what transpired at the AIG’s office where it was said he beat up Oba Akinropo.
A claim he dismissed, Oba Akanbi said if anything he was only fighting corruption that allegedly has eaten deep into the fabric of traditional institution. His word, “I am fighting corruption in traditional system and I will keep fighting it, because I love my people and my people love me.
“There was an argument that almost led to the fight that day, but I, Oba Abdrasheed Adewale Akanbi, did not punch the Agbowu of Ogbaagbaa.
“He did not know where he got the scratch he was showing people. I advise other traditional rulers in Iwoland to accord me my respect. I am their paramount traditional ruler.”
