Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, have joined other leading figures in the plan to form a coalition against President Bola Tinubu’s re-election to form a party.
The proposed party is named All Democratic Alliance, ADA, and both Atiku and El-Rufai alongside former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi and Umar Ardo, convener of the League of Northern Democrats and former aide to President Olusegun Obasanjo are seeking its registration by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The party applied to INEC for registration through a letter to the commission on Thursday.
The application is signed by its Protem National Chairman, Chief Akin A. Rickets, and Protem National Secretary, Abdullahi Elayo.
The development supplanted reports that the coalition may adopt either African Democratic Congress, and Social Democratic Party, SDP that previously prevailed.
