A seven-month-old baby boy named Habibu was found sleeping on his mother’s back 24 hours after she was shot dead by bandits on the Pandogari-Allawa road in Shiroro LGA of Niger State.

This is according to Daily Trust, citing the President of Lakpma Youth Assembly, Jibril Allawa.

“Miraculously, the baby was one of the survivors of the attack in which six people were killed. Vigilantes who went the following day to evacuate the remains of the victims found the baby sleeping on his dead mother’s back,” Allawa told the publication.

The report said, the attack happened on Sallah eve as the bandits blocked the Pandogari-Allawa road and opened fire on the occupants of the ill-fated vehicle, one of whom is a student of Maryam Babangida Girls’ Science College, Minna, Hauwa Aliyu.

Six of the passengers met their end from gunshots including the slain mother of the baby who was strapped to her back and found alive 24 hours after the attack.
