Niger Governor

Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani-Bello said persons are being recruited into banditry through Facebook nay social media.

Bello averred this on Wednesday in an interview with State House correspondents after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, where he alleged that most bandits are from Sudan and Mali and each time came into the country for operation on motorcycles.

The governor expressed his bemusement at the nature of the bandits saying, “I cannot imagine myself as a state governor and chief security officer of a state, sitting down and negotiating with bandits.

“They are never honest in their talks. Even when they were given the opportunity they failed to keep the agreement. And whenever they surrender their arms and they don’t ask for anything in return, then, you can tell it is not an honest negotiation.”

Recall that Niger has been rocked by banditry and kidnapping in recent times.
