Commissioner for Women Affairs in Bayelsa state, Mrs. Elizabeth Bidei has passed away.
Bidei’s death was announced by the state government via a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information, Orientation, and Strategy in the state, Hon. Mrs. Ebiuwou Koku-Obiyai.
In it, the state government expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family, particularly her widower, Chief Jackson Bidei, and their children.
“Our hearts go out to the bereaved family. Our prayers are with them during this profoundly difficult time of grief.
“Our sincerest sympathies and prayers are with her loved ones at this difficult time. May they all find comfort in the knowledge that Mrs. Bidei’s life and work had a profound impact on our state and its people.
“As we mourn Mrs. Bidei, we will dearly miss her and her passion as a dedicated public servant and a loyal party person, who worked tirelessly to promote the welfare and empowerment of women in our state,” the statement reads in part.
