Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom’s Senior Special Assistant on Security, Mr. Dene Igbana was on Friday shot dead by suspected assassins in front of his house.

A retired police officer, Igbana(pictured) was trailed by his assailants on his way to his house at Naka road, a Makurdi suburb, and was shot dead in front of his home after he tried to escape from his bullet-riddled Toyota Hilux.

Reacting the to the sad exit of Dene Igbana during a condolence visit to his family, Gov. Ortom regretted his death, and promised that his killer will be brought to book.

“They have killed part of me but I’m still alive, and I will ensure that anyone responsible for this dastardly killing would be made to face justice,” Gov. Ortom said.
