President Muhammadu Buhari has directed security agencies’ authorities to probe their officers that partook in the illegal declaration of Senator Aisha Dahiru, also known as Binani, as governor-elect of Adamawa State.
For the central figure in the terrible event, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Hudu Yunusa-Ari, Buhari charged the police to investigate him with a view to prosecute him if found guilty, and approbated his suspension by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
This all was disclosed by a circular from the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mustapha Boss.
“Also, the President has directed investigation by the IGP, Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), of the role of their officers in aiding and abetting the conduct/actions of Barr. Hudu Yunusa Ari and if found culpable, appropriate disciplinary actions, to be meted out to them,” the letter partly read.
