A 29-year-old birthday celebrant has died during the celebration in Lagos.
The deceased identified simply as Francis met his death while he was holding a birthday hangout with his friends on Thursday at Pop Beach Club in Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area of the state.
According to report, on the fateful day, at around 12pm, late Francis and three others abandoned their friends to swim, and were seen by some of the lifeguards close struggling with the sea.
Responding to the situation, the lifeguards jumped into the sea and were able to rescue the late celebrant’s friends.
The rescuers’ failed attempt to find Francis either alive or dead led the beach operators into inviting divers.
The latter, it was further said, recorded no succeess until Saturday when they brought the remains of the deceased with the corpse in turn deposited in the morgue.
