The newly appointed Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa has announced plan to probe the gruesome murder of Brigadier-General Musa Uba.

General Christopher revealed this on the floor of the Senate on Wednesday while being screened by Senators for the purpose of determining his suitability or otherwise for the appointment.

Recall that Brigadier General Uba, the commander of the 25 Task Force Brigade was recently killed in the line of duty by terrorists.

He was leading his men and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) when the insurgents ambushed them along the Damboa-Biu axis, killing four operatives—two soldiers and two CJTF officials.

Speaking during his screening, the former Chief of Defence Staff did not rule out the possibility of moles in the military having hands in Uba and the officers’ killings saying the melancholy event would be probed.

“It is very unfortunate for a brigade commander to be captured and shown the way they did. It’s painful. We will not stand by and see terrorists have the capacity to do such,” the Defence minister declared.

Before he added, “We are going to investigate fully. No indolence, no act of cowardice will be entertained. Commanders and troops must be professional.”
