A businessman, Bright Anaga, has sued the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, for allegedly causing his illegal arrest and detention.

Anaga took Mohammed before a Federal High Court in Abuja, demanding N500m damages over alleged violation of his fundamental right abuse, according to Punchng.com.
In the suit, the plaintiff reportedly joined Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu; Commissioner of Police, Federal Investigation Bureau and two others identified as Prince Jeff of the Federal Investigation Bureau and Alhassan Emmanuel, a Superintendent of Police, as respondents.
The businessman alleged on the minister’s instruction, on May 2, he was arrested at his base in Abia State and whisked away to Abuja where he has been in detention since then without being informed of his offence, charged to court or granted bail, the paper wrote.
