President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday said there was a streak of stubbornness in late former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Tinubu made this claim jokingly when he hosted members of The Buhari Organisation led by former Governor of Nasarawa State, Sen. Tanko Almakura at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Recall that the All Progressives Congress is an amalgamation of four parties: the Action Congress of Nigeria, the Congress for Progressive Change, the All Nigeria Peoples Party, a faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance and some then Peoples Democratic Party governors and chieftains.
In 2013 they merged into one, the APC, to defeat the PDP in 2015 with Tinubu ACN’s leader and Buhari that of CPC.
Going back in time while speaking with his guests that included Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda, the President said Buhari and him had disagreement on some issues during APC formation which he attributed to their individuals’ differing political cultures, adding that his deceased predecessor was stubborn.
“We disagreed to agree…We even argued over a symbol. He (Buhari) insisted on parliament, and I insisted on broom.
“He’s so stubborn,” Tinubu said amid laughter.
