Canada-based Nigerian arrested for assaulting adults in care home

A Nigerian, Oghenemaro Ejerua, has been arrested in Canada for allegedly assaulting vulnerable adults in a care home
located at Sibley Avenue and Dentonia Park Avenue.

The 38 years old as per a statement on the Toronto Police Service website, was arrested after being declared wanted in December 2025.

The statement claimed that Ejerua was employed as a caregiver at a group home for vulnerable adults between November 1 and November 30, 2025 but during his employment period, he allegedly committed a series of assaults on residents of the home.

As a result of the report, it said the police declared him wanted and launched a manhunt which led to his arrest.

“Oghenemaro Dave Ejerua, 38, of Toronto, has been arrested and charged with seven counts of assault.

“He was scheduled to appear in court at the Ontario Court of Justice, 10 Armoury Street, on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 10:00am, in room 106,” the statement stated.
