Prophet Yomi Adetula of a Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) in Idiroko, Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State, has been killed.
Adetula was murdered on Sunday during a church service at the CCC Eagle Parish along Baggage Road, Odo Eran, Idiroko.
The killers of the 54-year-old prophet, three in number, attacked him in the church at around 10.30am with double-barrel gun and machetes.
According to multiple reports, they shot him more than once and to seal his fate and ensure his death macheted him on the head to the grief of worshippers who were left stunned.
“Police officers raced to the scene and saw on Yomi Adetula, ‘M’, aged 54 years lifeless in the pool of blood which stained his white celestial garment lying face up.
“On careful observation, his body was riddled with bullets, and his head was not spared… to ensure the victim was really dead, it was mangled with axe.
“On police inquiry, information further gathered that three men came into the church, brought out a long double-barrel gun, aimed at their target, and fired a shot that brought the deceased down,” that was the account Ogun State Police Spokesperson Omolola Odutola gave.
