A traditional ruler, Chief Amodu Shakiru, aka Baba-Oja has been arrested for encouraging illegal street trading in Igando area of Lagos State.

Chief Shakiru was arrested alongside ten others by the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit (Task force), and the State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC).
He was alleged of collecting illegal fees from the traders and allotting spaces to them on the streets.
While speaking on the Chief’s arrest, the Chairman of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit, Olayinka Egbeyemi warned Lagosians against illegal street trading, urging traders to conform with the State Environmental Sanitation Laws and the State Road Traffic Laws of 2012.
