A land agent in Kwara, Alhaji Hussein Abubakar, has died in the custody of Nigerian Correctional Service in Ilorin, the state capital.

Late Abubakar, according to report, got into trouble over failed land deals with those at the receiving end of it dragging him to court which landed him in detention on the orders of the judge.

Four months behind the bar, precisely Friday, May 10, the land agent passed away, having fallen sick.

Controversy is trailing the death of a 63-year-old land agent with his bereaved family and the prison service in dispute over the manner of his demise.

“His family are of the view that he was sick prior to his death, and unattended to by the prison officials, a claim the latter invalidated saying he died in the hospital and had adequate medical care,” sources said.
