One Femi Oso, an inmate on death row at the Ibara Correctional Centre in Ogun State, is facing a fresh charge.
Oso, who already is sentenced to death duped a lady he met on Facebook a total sum of N17m in a love scam, according to report.
His victim has not been named but it was reported that she had committed the sum into the online relationship when in a bid to do due diligence informed her friend, who in turn discussed with her husband, a serving policeman attached to the Ondo State Police Command.
The latter, the account said, saw through the scam, and consequently got a Point of Sale operator, simply identified as Ayoola in whose account the monies were paid into arrested.
The mother of two, Ayoola’s business is within the view of the Prison, and under interrogation, it was gathered that she named Oso as the beneficiary and how she got to know him through a former inmate and the latter’s loved ones, who used to transfer money through her.
She also implicated the convict’s wife and brother-in-law who are said to be on the run while proving her innocence.
