The government also cast its net wide in search of the 130 passengers of the Turkish Airline, which brought the patient to Nigeria last Monday, according to the state Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi.

Abayomi, who did not name the hotel involved, however denied rumour claiming it is Radisson Hotel at Ikeja the Italian lodged before heading to cement giant, Lafarge plant at Ewekoro in Ogun State.

The Commissioner said of the efforts to track down all others in the flight that the index case flew to Nigeria with the view to subject them to necessary medical examination and quarantine any with symptoms of the deadly disease.

He said: “We are seriously working on that with the airline and in order to get the passengers in the aircraft and who possibly had contact with the man. The truth is that I can’t give the figure of how many have been contacted now but the contact tracing is on-going.”
